Do you want to play with us?
You are more than welcome to come and see what the OYSO is all about. Just check out our rehearsal schedule to see when we'll be meeting next. You can also fill out our Registration Form and either email to myself or bring to the rehearsal.
If you want to know anything more about the Orchestra, please email myself or the OYSO Director. In fact, if you're going to come to a rehearsal, let us know in advance and we can arrange to have music ready for you to try that night.
Can you play with us?
The age of our members ranges from 8 - 18.
Following are the instruments you'll find in our Orchestra. Please note that saxophones aren't included. While we have had sax players in the past, they played different instruments with us (like clarinet, trombone, or even violin).
| Violiln | Flute / Piccolo | Trumpet |
| Viola | Oboe | French Horn |
| Cello | Clarinet | Trombone |
| String Bass | Bassoon | Tuba |
| Percussion | Piano | Harp |
What do you need to join?
You need to be able to play an instrument and read music, even if it is at an introductory level. It is a definite bonus if you have an instrument, but we might have a spare one around if you don't.
You don't need to bring a music stand or a music folder.
You don't need to audition - we're a community group.
If you are going to join, take a moment to fill out our Membership Registration in advance - to save you some time at the rehearsal.
How much does it cost?
The fees for an Orchestra season is $100. If you have brothers or sisters who want to join as well, we have a family rate of $150.
